On behalf of Debre Tabor University, let me give a warm and cordial welcome to all visitors, students, faculty, staff, and all stakeholders in general. Located in the historical town of Debre Tabor, embraced at the edge of the breathtaking foothills of Mount Guna, Ethiopia’s third-highest mountain, DTU is dedicated to providing an enabling environment for learning and personal development.

Our university, established in 2008 (2001 E.C.), has emerged from its modest beginnings with 628 students at Wereta Agricultural College into an active academic community of over 18,000 students, engaging in undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in various disciplines. Our dedication to academic excellence is well complemented by our objective of instilling social responsibility and innovation in our students.

With a total of 75 regular and extension programs, we align our academic offerings to national development priorities and global standards. Our seven research centers take center stage in driving community-led innovation to support and empower farmers and local communities through applied research.
