The Ministry of Health Hosts a Webinar in Collaboration with Debre Tabor University
The Ministry of Health, in collaboration with Debre Tabor University and the Ethiopian Pharmaceutical Supply Service, hosted a webinar on March 3, 2017. The event took place at Debre Tabor University’s Smart Classroom and was attended by 69 health professionals from the South Gondar Zone. The primary focus of the webinar was to discuss the national pharmaceutical supply chain, including recent laws, guidelines, and newly implemented systems.
The training session was coordinated by Mr. Fasikaw Worku, the Executive Director of the Information and Communication Technology Department at Debre Tabor University. During his address, Mr. Fasikaw highlighted the advanced technological capabilities of the Smart Classroom. He emphasized that the integration of cutting-edge technologies within the classroom significantly enhances the teaching and learning process. This digital transformation not only elevates the quality of education but also contributes to reducing operational costs, making educational information more accessible, and bridging the digital divide between those who utilize technology and those who do not.
Furthermore, Mr. Fasikaw underlined the profound impact of the Smart Classroom on students’ educational experiences. Unlike traditional education, it empowers learners to access a wealth of knowledge from any location and at any time. Students can effortlessly participate in virtual classes, thus enriching their learning journey and fostering flexibility in their academic pursuits.
Beyond its primary function in the academic sphere, the Smart Classroom has also become a vital hub for training and discussions within the zone. Mr. Fasikaw noted that the recent webinar, organized in response to a request from the Ministry of Health, serves as a prime example of how the facility extends its purpose beyond conventional educational activities.
The successful collaboration between the Ministry of Health and Debre Tabor University exemplifies the university’s commitment to leveraging modern technology to address professional training needs and promote digital literacy within the region.
