
Debre Tabor University Signed Performance Contract Agreement with the Ministry of Education
Debre Tabor University has entered into a crucial performance contracting agreement with the Ministry of Education, marking a significant step toward fostering a culture of accountability and excellence in higher education.
The Ministry of Education is steadfast in its mission to establish operational systems that empower higher education institutions to evolve in alignment with scientific and international standards. This initiative aims to ensure that universities not only operate effectively but also uphold their responsibilities to produce competent graduates, conduct impactful research, and serve their communities.
In line with this vision, on December 16, 2017, the Chairman of the Board of Debre Tabor University, Honorable Ato Million Mathios, and the University President, Dr. Anegagren Gashaw, officially signed the performance contract.
During the signing ceremony, it was emphasized that this agreement is not merely a document but a commitment to driving effectiveness and accountability. The partnership underscores the critical role of institutions in nurturing capable graduates and fulfilling their academic and societal missions.
Dr. Anegagren Gashaw reaffirmed the university’s dedication to achieving its objectives by adhering to key performance indicators (KPIs). He outlined plans for senior officials at Debre Tabor University to sign cascading agreements with deans, directors, and executives at every level, ensuring that the institution remains focused on meeting its annual KPIs with responsibility and accountability.
Dr. Anegagren emphasized that the implementation of these key indicators is not an option but a binding obligation. Expressing confidence in the university’s leadership and community, he stated that everyone involved would diligently, efficiently, and responsibly contribute to fulfilling these targets.
