
Debre Tabor University Hosts Successful Workshop on Moodle Platform for Exam Administration
On December 2, 2024, Debre Tabor University held a successful one-day workshop titled “Application of Moodle Platform for Exam Administration.” The e-Learning Management Directorate organized this event with the ICT CEO and the Education Quality Directorate. The workshop targeted deans, department heads, exam committee members, and postgraduate coordinators, focusing on transitioning from paper-based to online examination systems. The initiative aims to modernize exam administration and enhance educational efficiency, with plans to implement the system for final exams this semester. The event began with an opening address by Dr. Menberu Teshome, Vice President for Academic and Research Affairs, who emphasized the importance of integrating technology into examination processes. Dr. Mersha Nigus, Director of the e-Learning Directorate, highlighted the relevance of the Moodle platform for secure and efficient exam management. He introduced resource persons.
Mr. Mohammed Yesouf and Mr. Tikuneh Yetneberk, who led the technical training sessions. Participants engaged in hands-on training that equipped them with practical skills for administering exams via Moodle, marking a significant step in the university’s digital transformation journey. Many attendees expressed enthusiasm for the program, noting its potential to enhance educational quality and optimize resource use. They suggested expanding similar sessions to the college level to ensure a comprehensive understanding and successful implementation.
The workshop concluded with a question-and-answer session, where the resource persons addressed participant inquiries. Dr. Mersha Nigus wrapped up the event by reaffirming the university’s commitment to advancing digital education systems and expressing gratitude to all contributors.
