
Debre Tabor University Celebrates International Women’s Day
Debre Tabor University marked the 114th International Women’s Day, celebrated globally, for the 49th time in Ethiopia and the 11th time at the university. The occasion was graced by Dr. Firehiwot Endale, Vice President for Administrative and Development Affairs, who also represented the University President. Dr. Firehiwot emphasized the imperative of safeguarding women’s rights and ensuring their benefits, affirming the university’s commitment to fostering female leadership. She highlighted the establishment of a daycare center on campus as a testament to the institution’s dedication to creating a conducive environment for women.
Addressing the gathering, Mrs. Nigistie Fisha, Executive for Women, Social Affairs, and Inclusive Practice, called for collective efforts to protect women’s rights and secure their benefits. She underscored the importance of unwavering commitment from all stakeholders in advancing gender equality and empowering women to thrive in academia and beyond.
