
Debre Tabor University College of Health Sciences Hosts Quality Review Meeting for Medicine program Accreditation
On March 18, 2017, Debre Tabor University College of Health Sciences convened a quality review meeting focused on the accreditation of its Department of Medicine. The event brought together university management, faculty, and various stakeholders to discuss the accreditation process and acknowledge contributions from those involved.
During the meeting, a detailed document outlining the accreditation process was presented. Following this, a ceremony was held to express gratitude and recognize individuals who played significant roles in achieving this milestone.
Dr. Menberu Teshome, Vice President of Academic and Research Affairs, emphasized that this accreditation marks a significant step forward in enhancing the quality of health science education in Ethiopia. Dr. Menberu urged that efforts be made to gain international recognition for the program.
On behalf of the president, Dr. Firehiwot Endale Vice President of Administrative and Development, commended the stakeholders for their initiative and resilience in navigating challenges throughout the accreditation process. Dr. Firehiwot noted that their success could serve as a model for other colleges, underscoring the university’s commitment to expanding its campus in the future.
Assistant Professor Amsalu Belete, Corporate Director of Health Sciences College Education and Medical Services, expressed gratitude to the academic departments and stakeholders for their hard work in making the accreditation process successful. He stressed the need for continued collaboration to complete the recognition process effectively.
Dr. Mulugeta Ashagre, Director of Medical school, expressed his gratitude to all stakeholders, particularly the management, acknowledging their collaborative efforts amid numerous challenges. Dr. Mulugeta affirmed their commitment to continued teamwork moving forward.
In recognition of significant contributions, Assistant Professor Aweke Giletew was awarded for his pivotal role in the success of the accreditation process.
